Meta crawled Yahoo big time.
Metacrawler was amazing. Not only does it have a cool name, it is one of the most useful search engine I've ever used. Even though it yielded only about 50 results, they were all very relevant and useful articles which would be substantial for my report. I am impressed by it and will definitely used it in the future.
Yahoo Directory however, is more on the medical details part as according to my research topic. I should have chosen a more interesting topic but the hey. It's good to learn new things, especially on HIV. Not that I need to know or anything..
It's good to use various search facilities in your research as the different search engines would always show different results and this might widen your knowledge on the subject or give you more perspective for your report.
I have always used site feeds in my blog. It's generally called a "link" in layman's term. This is pretty crucial in every blog as everyone likes to network these days. Furthermore, it would be easier to browse through your friends' blogs if you have already linked them from your blog. They are literally a click away.
